In the artical about nuraghi it talks about how there were spotted all over Sardinia. it says when they were built most of them were built together. they also say they do not know exactly how the nuraghi were built. also how the stones, especially the very big stones were lifted. another thing is that nobody new why they were built. lastly the entrances are usually south facing but some are built with east or west facing entrances.

This building has a prominent role in the Sardinian landscape . Visitor’s mind as a characteristic image of this mysterious and more ordinary land and are a symbol and emblem of the whole population."Nurra" which means "heap" or "mound", but also "cavity". perhaps the meaning that the word has been applied to the original shape of the Nuraghi, built by laying big stones one on top of the other to create a "hollow" which is then covered by a stone dome to form a room. The walls have no cement in them. The Nuraghe has the shape of a circular tower with vertical truncatedconic surmounted over hanging the balcony. On the inside of it there is a dome shaped roof. The stones are laid with the largest stone at the bottom. There is numerous Nuraghi's scattered in Sardinia.

The nuraghi are stone towers spread all over Sardinia that were built way back in the Middle Bronze Age (XVI-XV century BC) and were finished in the Late Bronze Age (at the end of X century BC). No one is definitely sure how the nuraghi were built and how the stones were lifted, but scientists came up with hypotheses on how these towers were used. Some people believe that the nuraghi were built as a territorial defense system and others believe that they were used for living and for guarding the surrounding territory. Over 7000, well preserved nuraghi are still standing throughout the Sardinian landscape. Some different nuraghi that still survive today include Su Nuraxi, the Nuraghe Losa, the Nuraghe Orrubiu, and the Nuraghe Palmavera. According to a great Sardinian scholar, Giovanni Lilliu, “Nuraghi form a part of the charm of Sardinia, along with the unlimited virgin land and the sea,"(Cocco 1).

In the article nuraghi, by donatello cocco it discusses how nuraghi's are found all over sardegna. Nuraghi's are built by laying big stones one on top of the other to create a "hollow" which is then covered by a stone dome to form a room. Also they were used for living and for guarding the surrounding territory. Each Nuraghi is one of a kind because they were all built seperatly. We do not know exactly how the nuraghi were built and in particular how the stones, especially the very big stones were lifted. To sum up Nuraghis are works of art wnd they are a part of sardinian culture.
